Technology transfer unit operates in accordance with applicable laws and the internal regulations of the University. Its primary role is to ensure the effective transfer of knowledge and research results from the academic environment to the economy and society, thereby fostering innovation potential and contributing to the development of the regional and national economy. Within its scope of activities, the Department plans and promotes technology and knowledge transfer programmes and actively works to educate scientists, researchers, and other stakeholders about the transfer process and its importance. It also develops models of cooperation and encourages networking among key stakeholders involved in technology transfer processes, including researchers, industry, investors, and other relevant partners.
The Department provides expert assistance to researchers regarding technology and knowledge transfer procedures, as well as support for research and innovation projects with potential for application and commercialisation. It actively contributes to building and strengthening the technology transfer community through networking and membership in professional associations at both the national and international levels. One of the Department’s key responsibilities is managing procedures and protocols related to technology transfer, including administrative and legal aspects, as well as managing funds allocated for this purpose. The Department receives disclosures of research outputs, i.e. inventions developed at the University, and assesses their commercialisation potential.
